Updated 25 October 2026 · ZaiMiXplorer 1.0.0 for Windows 11 x64. Find installation help, feature instructions and troubleshooting below.

Installation & startup

Which operating systems can I use?

ZaiMiXplorer 1.0.0 requires Windows 11 x64. Check the download page for package requirements and installation instructions.

What hardware do I need?

A verified minimum CPU, RAM and free-space specification is not currently available in this guide. Check the download instructions or contact support with your Windows version and hardware details. Allow additional local space for temporary cloud downloads and tool output.

How do I install and launch the app?

For the Windows installer, download the complete Setup.exe from the website, close existing copies of the app and run Setup. Follow the wizard and launch ZaiMiXplorer from the installed shortcut. The installer and portable ZIP are alternative distributions; you do not need both.

For the portable ZIP, wait until the download finishes, right-click the ZIP in File Explorer and choose Extract All. Extract the complete package to a normal writable folder before running ZaiMiXplorer.exe. Do not run it from inside the compressed-folder view or move only the EXE. Sign in and complete the applicable trial or licence check.

How should I update ZaiMiXplorer?

Finish transfers and save tool output, then close the app normally before replacing a package. Follow the instructions for the new download and keep a backup of your files. Do not delete local account data to force an update; an update does not create another trial.

How do I uninstall it?

For an installed copy, close the app and use Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → ZaiMiXplorer → Uninstall. For a portable copy, turn Auto Launch off before moving or removing its extracted folder, then close it and remove that package. Keep your documents and backups. Uninstalling does not delete your online account, reset a trial or transfer a paid seat.

Does the app need Microsoft Office?

The file explorer and non-Office conversions do not require Office PDF export. Fi-Convert needs installed Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint for the corresponding Office file types. A web-only Office account does not provide the desktop export component used by the app.

What should I do if the app will not start?

Check that the complete package is present, that Windows allows you to read it, and that your internet connection can reach account and licensing services. Record the exact error message. Do not download individual DLLs from unofficial sites; contact support if the supplied package still fails.

What does Auto Launch do?

Auto Launch opens ZaiMiXplorer when you sign into Windows, including after a full restart. Enable it from the app and keep the installed or extracted EXE at a persistent path. After moving a portable package, turn Auto Launch off and on again from its new location.

To open directly into the app, sign in with Keep me signed in checked on that Windows account. Without a remembered session, Auto Launch can correctly open the app sign-in screen instead. Online access verification is still required. Windows startup settings and security policies can prevent launch; If Auto Launch does not work on your computer, check the Windows startup setting and contact support with the error message.

Why does Auto Launch show an error?

Auto Launch is available in the Windows EXE build. A very long EXE path can exceed the startup command limit. Use a shorter package folder path and try again. For Could not update Windows startup, record the full message and contact support.

Why does Windows show an unrecognised-app or unknown-publisher warning?

The current website installer is unsigned and has no publicly trusted publisher certificate. Windows SmartScreen may warn or block it. A checksum does not remove that warning or establish a trusted publisher. Download only from the official website, compare the supplied checksum if needed and follow your organisation’s security rules. If you cannot establish the download is trustworthy, do not run it. The current download is not a Microsoft Store-certified release.

How do I verify a download with SHA-256?

The small Verify download (SHA-256) link below the installer button opens the expected filename and hash. In PowerShell, run Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 -LiteralPath "C:\Users\YourName\Downloads\ZaiMiXplorer-1.0.0-Windows-x64-Setup.exe", using your actual file path, and compare the entire hash. A match confirms the file matches the published checksum; it does not replace a trusted digital signature. If it differs, do not run the file; download again and report a persistent mismatch.

Why does Windows report an invalid ZIP or extraction path?

First make sure the download is complete and verify its checksum. Select the ZIP itself in Downloads and choose Extract All into a short, writable destination, rather than trying to extract from inside its compressed-folder view. Allow space for both the archive and extracted files. If the error persists, keep the exact error text and contact support; do not assume a damaged archive is safe.

Where are the open-source notices and covered-library sources?

Read the supplied third-party notices and SOURCE_ACCESS.txt for the materials corresponding to your package. The complete portable package includes covered-library sources under Sources/, checksums and applicable replacement/build instructions. A compact installer may direct you to a separate source-containing download. Follow its exact source-access instructions and version mapping; the installer checksum is not the source-archive checksum. Third-party licence rights remain governed by their own terms.

Accounts & sign-in

How do I create an account?

At ZaiMiXplorer — Sign In, enter your email and a password of at least eight characters, then choose Create Account. Creating an account does not start the trial. If asked to verify your email, complete that step before returning to Sign In.

Why does it say Email Already Registered?

This email is already registered. Please sign in or reset your password. Use Sign In for that account rather than creating another account with the same address. If you cannot remember the password, use the website password-reset option.

How do I verify my email?

Open the verification email and follow its link, then return to sign in. Check your spam folder and the email address you entered. On the website, Resend Email requests another verification message and I Have Verified My Email checks your status.

How do I reset a forgotten password?

On the website Sign In form, enter your account email first and choose Forgot password?. Open the link in the reset email. On Set your new password, enter and confirm a new password of at least 8 characters, then choose Update password. Follow any additional account password requirements shown. After Password updated, sign in with the new password. If the link is invalid or expired, request a fresh one. Resetting your password does not restart a trial or add a licence seat. Do not send your password to support. The desktop Sign In dialog does not include a password-reset button.

How do I stay signed in?

Check Keep me signed in on this Windows account before choosing Sign In. The remembered session belongs to that Windows user. Launching under another Windows account may require sign-in again. Remembered sign-in still needs a successful online licensing check at launch.

Does Remembered sign-in store my password?

The app saves an authentication session protected with Windows user encryption, rather than saving the password entered in the Sign In form. This does not encrypt all preferences, logs or temporary files. Avoid remembered sign-in on a shared Windows account.

How do I change the account used by the desktop app?

The current desktop interface has no dedicated account-switch control. Signing out of the website does not by itself change a remembered desktop session. Contact support for the supported account-change procedure; do not delete session files or create another trial to work around access checks.

Trial, licensing & devices

When does my seven-day trial start?

Creating an account does not start it. An eligible trial starts when you confirm activation in the Windows app and the service confirms the start. The Trial Activated message gives the end time. Activate only when you are ready to use the seven days.

Does the countdown stop while I am not using the app?

No. The seven days run continuously after activation, including while the app is closed or the computer is asleep. Reinstalling, signing in again or leaving the app unused does not restart the trial.

What happens when my trial ends?

The app requires a verified paid license to continue. Trial Ended means the seven-day period has ended. Check your purchase and sign in with the account that owns it; do not assume that installing another copy creates a new trial.

Am I eligible for an early-bird price?

Trial-based discounted eligibility uses the first 72 hours after confirmed trial activation while the trial remains active. The actual promotion and price depend on the offer shown for your signed-in account at checkout. Creating an account alone does not establish eligibility. Check the final amount, currency and quantity before paying.

Why must I activate a trial before purchasing?

If checkout says “Start your 7-day trial in the Windows app before purchasing a license,” it has no confirmed trial start for this account. Activate when you are ready, then return to checkout. A confirmed start is required; you do not have to wait for the trial to end before buying.

How do I activate paid access?

Complete checkout for the account you intend to use, then open ZaiMiXplorer while online and sign in with that account. The app must verify the purchase and assign or verify a seat for this device. Look for Licensed in App Status before relying on paid access.

How many computers can use my purchase?

Each purchased seat permits one assigned device. Multiple seats can cover multiple devices. Copying the app to another computer or sharing a remembered session does not add a seat. Check your purchase quantity and device assignments if a new device cannot obtain access.

How do I transfer a seat to another computer?

Paid licence transfers apply to one purchased seat at a time. On the new computer, sign in to the account that owns the seat. When offered, choose Transfer a seat. In Transfer a paid seat, select Seat, enter Account password and choose Request transfer. The old computer does not need to be switched on to request the transfer.

The new computer becomes eligible only after 24 hours and 5 minutes have elapsed since the old computer’s last successful licence verification. This protects the old computer’s existing offline allowance; it is not necessarily a fresh 24-hour wait from the transfer request. Use the exact time shown in Transfer Pending, then reopen the new app while online to complete verification.

Each seat is subject to a 30-day cooldown between transfer requests. A seat cannot return to a computer that previously held it, even after the cooldown ends. The device and account must also pass the app’s eligibility checks. These paid-seat transfers do not transfer or reset a trial.

Can I transfer the same licence seat more than once?

Yes, to another eligible computer that has not previously held that seat, subject to the 30-day cooldown between transfer requests and the Transfer Pending waiting period.

For example, computer A → B is allowed when eligible. B → C can be requested after the 30-day cooldown, with access starting only after the pending waiting period. C → A is blocked because A previously held that same seat, even if more than 30 days have passed. The rules apply separately to each purchased seat.

Can I transfer to a temporary computer and return after a repair?

No. The current policy does not provide a temporary-device or repair exception. After a seat is transferred away from a computer, that same seat cannot be transferred back to it. Do not request a transfer expecting to return the seat to the repaired computer later.

For questions about the policy, email admin.zaiclox5@gmail.com before requesting a transfer. Contacting support does not itself approve an exception or change a seat assignment.

Can I transfer immediately by uninstalling the old copy?

No. Uninstalling does not replace the supported seat-transfer process, shorten its waiting period or bypass the 30-day cooldown and previous-device restriction. A transfer can remain pending even when the old app is closed. Reopen the new app while online at the time shown in Transfer Pending.

Can I use a paid license without internet?

After successful online verification, the running app has a paid offline allowance of up to 24 hours from that verification. Failed checks do not restart the allowance. It is not a promise of 24 hours after disconnecting if the last successful verification happened earlier.

Does sleep pause the paid offline allowance?

No. The allowance is designed to count real elapsed time, including sleep. If the deadline passes while asleep, access must be checked on resume. Keep important work saved; do not treat sleep as a way to extend licensed access.

Can I restart the app while offline?

The current app requires an online license check at launch, even if authentication was remembered. The running app’s offline allowance is not a reusable offline-start credential. Restore your connection before closing and relaunching if you need to continue working.

Is License verification unavailable — retrying an error?

It means the app could not complete an online license check and is retrying. An existing valid paid allowance can still permit access until its deadline. Check connectivity, save your work and reconnect. A failed retry does not extend that deadline.

What does License Check mean?

A paid seat could not be verified for this device. Please check your purchase and device assignments. Confirm the signed-in account, purchase and assigned device, and try again while online. Send support the exact message if the account should have access.

What do Trial Activation and Trial Not Available messages mean?

A completed seven-day trial cannot be started again on the same eligible account or device. “Trial Not Available” means trial access was not granted; it does not display internal decision references. A temporary “Trial Activation” or “Trial Status” problem is shown separately. Check your account status or contact support if you believe the decision is incorrect.

Why does the app close after an access warning?

“Your trial or license is no longer active. ZaiMiXplorer will close.” means usable access has ended. “Paid license verification expired” means the offline verification deadline ended. Save outputs regularly and obtain valid online access before reopening.

Can a refund or payment dispute affect access?

Paid access depends on an eligible purchase and active seat. A purchase that is no longer eligible can lose access at a licensing check. Contact support about billing status; opening another account or copying the app does not restore an entitlement.

How long do the purchased licence and support last?

The approved customer terms state that the purchased licence and ZaiMiXplorer support continue throughout the existence of RZM Network, subject to valid account and access verification. Updates released for the same licensed product have no additional update fee. This does not grant every future product or unlimited offline use. Read the current customer terms before purchasing.

File explorer & transfers

How do the two panes work?

Each pane displays its own selected location and folder. You can browse local folders or an available cloud location on either side. Check both displayed paths before starting a transfer; the destination pane determines where the files go.

How do I navigate or find a file?

Choose a location in the pane selector and open a folder. Use ⬆ Up and 🔄 Refresh when needed. Search name or pattern (*.png)… supports name or pattern searches. Before moving a search result to Trash, open its actual folder.

How do I copy or move files?

Select the source items, right-click and choose 📋 Copy to copy or ✂ Cut to move. In the destination folder, right-click and choose 📌 Paste. Ordinary dragging copies; Ctrl-dragging moves. Drop onto another folder in the same pane or into the other pane, checking the displayed target. Source and destination must differ. Copy leaves the source; check progress and the destination before assuming a move completed.

What happens if a destination name already exists?

The transfer prompt offers Replace / Merge, Keep Both, Skip and Cancel. Replace / Merge can replace files or merge folder contents; Keep Both keeps a separately named copy. Review the destination carefully before choosing a replacement.

How do I rename or delete an item?

Select the item in its folder, right-click and choose ✏ Rename or 🗑 Delete. Delete opens the Move to Trash confirmation. A name already in use can produce Duplicate Name. Moving to Trash is different from removing a Saved location shortcut or deleting a cloud bucket.

How does Cloud Trash recovery work?

Cloud Delete copies objects into ZaiMiXplorer’s .cloud-explorer-trash area and records their original paths before removing the visible source. This is app-managed storage, not provider-native Trash. Restore to Original Location does not overwrite an existing destination and retains a recovery copy. Permanent deletion is irreversible. Bulk Restore All and Permanently Delete All can affect Trash across configured writable connections; inspect the scope and confirmation first.

Why is a folder unavailable or a file operation denied?

The drive may be disconnected, the folder moved, the cloud connection unavailable or your Windows/cloud permissions insufficient. Reconnect the location, verify the displayed path and refresh. Permission errors do not mean the app can bypass Windows or bucket access rules.

Are local sync folders the same as Live cloud storage?

No. OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox and iCloud Drive detection finds existing local sync folders. Their installed sync clients manage syncing and availability; detection is not guaranteed. Add local / network folder accepts an existing Windows path or network share, not a bucket URL. Configure Cloud provides direct B2, S3 and R2 browsing as named Live connections without a full local sync.

Why are cloud files downloaded temporarily?

Opening or processing remote files can require temporary local downloads and extra disk space. Tool output uses the selected destination. Editing a temporary copy does not always save back: external-editor monitoring is opt-in for eligible S3/R2 files only. B2 needs an explicit upload of edited output.

What should I do after a transfer fails?

Read Transfer Error or the tool-specific message, check connectivity, permissions and free space, and inspect the destination for completed or partial items before retrying. Do not assume every multi-file or cloud operation is rolled back. Keep the original until you confirm the result.

Can I upload a file larger than 5 GiB?

Direct uploads to configured B2, S3 and R2 connections use multipart transfer for files larger than 5 GiB, up to the app’s 20 GiB per-file upload limit. The provider must accept the upload, and the connection needs write permission. Keep the app and source file available until completion; check the destination before removing the local original. The separate automatic editor save-back feature still has a 5 GiB limit.

How accurate is the transfer time remaining?

When byte progress is available, the progress area estimates time left from measured transfer speed. It can show Estimating, Waiting or Time unknown when there is not enough recent progress. The estimate can change with network speed, provider response and disk activity; use the completion message to confirm the operation finished.

Why did a downloaded file not open in another app?

A completed cloud download confirms the file reached local storage; opening it also depends on Windows having an application associated with that file type. If no viewer opens, check the local copy and install or select an appropriate viewer. For example, a PPTX file needs a compatible presentation app to view it; ZaiMiXplorer does not supply PowerPoint.

What happens when I cancel a transfer?

Use Cancel while the transfer is active. A fast transfer can finish before cancellation takes effect. Completed files from a multi-file transfer can remain; cancellation is not a rollback of the whole operation. Inspect the source and destination before retrying or deleting anything. Single-file cancellation cleanup and completed-file integrity were checked in the acceptance fixtures, but an interrupted network or provider error can still require inspection.

Can I cancel a drag or drop onto another file?

Press Escape before releasing the mouse to abandon a drag. Dropping onto an ordinary file in the same pane is rejected rather than treating that file as a destination folder. Check the highlighted destination before releasing the mouse and confirm the result before another transfer.

Why does a read-only destination reject a write?

A read-only drive, folder or cloud connection may allow browsing and downloading but reject upload, paste, rename or deletion. Check the destination’s Windows permissions or the cloud connection’s read/write setting and key permissions. Enabling writes in the app does not grant Windows or provider permissions. A read-only destination is an access restriction; it does not by itself mean the cloud is disconnected.

Saved Local Folders

How do I save the folder I am viewing?

Display the folder you want in a pane, then choose Save location. This saves the displayed folder, not a selected file or unopened subfolder. Find it again in the pane’s location selector.

How many local folders can I save?

Saved Local Folders allows seven folders per app profile, shared between both panes. The list persists after a normal restart. Named Configure Cloud connections are separate and do not count toward this seven-folder limit.

Can I use a saved folder in either pane?

Yes. Saved locations are shared across the two pane selectors. Choose the saved entry in either pane to open it without creating another shortcut.

Why does it say this folder is already saved?

This folder is already in Saved locations. means its path is already listed. Local paths are normalized and compared without regard to letter case, so changing capitalization or a trailing slash does not create a different shortcut.

Will saved folders remain after restarting?

The list is saved in local app preferences for the profile. Restarting normally preserves it. Another Windows account or app profile can have a different list; deleting preferences can remove the shortcuts.

What if a saved folder is missing?

Saved location unavailable means the folder cannot currently be opened. It remains in the list until you remove it. Reconnect the drive or restore the folder to its saved path, then try again; selecting it does not silently delete the shortcut.

Does removing a saved folder delete its files?

No. Select the saved folder and choose Remove saved location. Only the shortcut is removed. The folder and its files are not deleted. Do not use Move to Trash when you only want to remove a shortcut.

Why can I not save a temporary or backup location?

Temporary cloud-preview downloads and the app’s cloud offline-backup location are not ordinary saved locations. Open the actual local folder or available live cloud folder instead. A local folder must exist when you save it.

Can I use a network share or UNC folder?

Use Settings → Add local / network folder with an existing Windows folder or UNC path, for example \\server\share. The server/share must be reachable and your Windows account must have permission. Open folders and use Up within that share as with other local locations. This is a Windows network path, not an S3/R2 bucket URL. Disconnected shares must be reconnected before browsing or output can succeed.

Configure Cloud & local sync folders

Which providers can I configure for direct access?

Use Settings → Configure Cloud for Backblaze B2, Amazon S3 and Cloudflare R2. Give each connection a name: successful connections appear as “Connection name · Live” in both pathname selectors. Select one to browse remotely. OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox and iCloud Drive are described here as local sync-folder locations. Direct support for other providers is not offered by this guide.

How do I add a named Live connection?
  1. Open Settings → Configure Cloud. Choose B2, S3 or R2 and enter a connection name.
  2. Enter your own provider-issued credentials and location fields, using the provider’s Official setup help link.
  3. Choose read/write access only if needed and allowed by your key. Add Cloud verifies listing before saving; a failed check keeps the form available.
  4. Select the saved “Name · Live” entry in either pane. Network access and sufficient permissions are required.

Never use somebody else’s development credentials or send keys in email, chat, screenshots or error reports.

Which permissions should my key have?

Use a scoped key limited to the buckets and prefixes you need. Listing and download require list/read permissions. Upload, copy, move, Cloud Trash and restoration require corresponding write/copy/delete permissions. Enabling read/write in the app does not grant permissions to the key. Recovery copies consume storage; lifecycle rules can affect recovery. Prefer a scoped application/IAM key over a master key.

How do bucket and folder selection work?

Normally enter a bucket and optional root folder prefix; leave the prefix blank to start at the bucket root. Do not repeat the bucket name as the prefix unless that is an actual folder. B2 All buckets starts at a bucket list and requires bucket-name listing plus file permissions in the buckets you open. Select a bucket before file transfers. Bucket creation/deletion is not an explorer file operation.

How do uploads and downloads work?

Copy local items into a cloud folder to upload; copy cloud items into a local folder to download. Check the selected bucket and both pane paths first. Reading requires download permission and writing requires upload permission. Wait for successful completion before removing your source.

How do I reconnect, edit or remove a connection?

Select the connection in Settings. Reconnect cloud retries authorization/listing; Edit cloud changes the saved setup. Leave secret fields blank to keep saved values; S3/R2 can explicitly remove a saved temporary session token. Disconnect cloud stops access while retaining configuration. Remove cloud removes the saved connection and its protected credentials, never remote files. Entries are retained during temporary outages; Connected, Offline and Sign-in required are separate from the Live location label.

Is cloud rename an instant operation?

Cloud file and folder moves use copy followed by deletion of the source objects. Large folders can take time and errors can leave partial results. Verify the destination and source after completion rather than assuming an atomic rename.

Does Delete remove every historical version?

Do not assume so. The explorer works with the current visible objects and does not provide a full historical-version manager. Backblaze versions and hide markers can remain subject to bucket lifecycle rules. Review older versions and permanent deletion in Backblaze’s tools when needed.

Are provider charges included?

Provider storage, transfer and request charges are separate from app access. Check your provider account and pricing. ZaiMiXplorer does not supply a cloud account or promise a storage allowance.

What do the provider fields mean?
  • B2: Application key ID and application key; matching S3 HTTPS endpoint and bucket region; bucket unless All buckets is selected; optional root prefix. Master application keys are not suitable for the S3-compatible connector.
  • S3: Access key ID, secret access key, bucket and bucket region. Endpoint is optional for the normal AWS endpoint. Enter the temporary session token when using temporary AWS credentials; all three parts must belong to the same session.
  • R2: R2 S3 API access key ID and secret access key, your account’s S3 HTTPS endpoint, region auto and bucket. Use S3 API credentials, not a general Cloudflare API token. Optional session token is only for credentials that require one.

Credentials are protected with Windows current-user DPAPI; nonsecret metadata is stored separately. Other Windows/app profiles have separate configuration. This does not protect against malicious software running as your signed-in user or an administrator. Temporary downloads are ordinary local files.

Official setup: B2 keys · S3 permissions · R2 S3 credentials.

Why can I list or upload B2 files but not download them?

Listing and uploading can still work when Backblaze denies downloads because an account-level daily download cap has been reached. A download or file preview may then show an access error even with a valid read/write key. Check the cap and usage in your own Backblaze account, and retry after the provider lifts or resets it. Do not send an application key to support.

Does Ctrl + S in another editor update the cloud original?

Only when you open an eligible S3/R2 file through the app and accept automatic save-back. Keep ZaiMiXplorer open; saving the tracked local copy with Ctrl + S or Save can upload to the same remote object. The connector checks for remote changes, retains a history backup and stops on conflicts or failures. S3 also needs object-tag permissions to preserve tags. Automatic save-back of a file over 5 GiB is unsupported; local disk headroom is required. This limit does not apply to a separate direct upload. B2 automatic save-back is unavailable. Save As to another path is not the tracked copy. Check completion before closing, and keep edited local copies after any failure.

Why is a ZaiCloX5 Live location not listed on first startup?

An unavailable preconfigured ZaiCloX5 Live location is no longer shown to a new profile as an unusable default. Configure your own supported cloud account in Settings to add a named Live connection. Existing user-configured connections are separate and can remain listed during an outage so you can reconnect or edit them.

Why does a working key show Access was denied or credentials expired?

Check that the complete key ID and matching secret were pasted without missing characters or extra spaces. Confirm the bucket, region, endpoint and key permissions. Temporary AWS credentials also require their matching session token. A key that works on another PC does not prove the VM contains the same complete values. Check network access and Windows clock accuracy as well. This message alone does not identify which of these checks failed; record the exact error without revealing credentials.

Can I view a forgotten cloud secret again?

Providers normally show a new secret only when the key is created. If you no longer have it in a secure store, use the provider dashboard to create an appropriately scoped replacement, update the connection and verify it before revoking an old key still in use. Do not send secrets to support. A general Cloudflare API token is not an R2 S3 access-key pair.

Fi-Convert

What can Fi-Convert convert?

Fi-Convert converts supported documents and images to PDF. Inputs are DOC, DOCX, RTF, ODT; XLS, XLSX, CSV; PPT, PPTX, ODP; TXT, MD, HTML, HTM; PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, BMP, TIF and TIFF. It does not convert PDF back to Word or another editable format.

Which Office applications are required?

Word-family inputs require installed Microsoft Word, spreadsheet inputs require Excel, and presentation inputs require PowerPoint. An error saying “Microsoft [application] is required for Office PDF export” means that application's desktop export component is unavailable.

Will the output look exactly like the source?

Office output depends on how the installed application opens and exports the source. Fonts, print settings and document features can affect layout. TXT, Markdown and HTML are read as plain text, so their markup is not rendered as a web page or rich document. Review the PDF before sharing.

Can I combine several files into one PDF?

Yes. Add supported inputs in the intended order, review the list, select Output Folder with Use Left Folder, set Filename and choose Convert to PDF. The resulting PDF combines the prepared pages in that input order.

Where is the converted PDF saved?

Use Output Folder and Filename to choose the destination. Use Left Folder takes the folder currently displayed in the left pane, including an available cloud folder. Review the destination and success message; do not assume output is saved next to the source.

Why does an existing PDF get rejected?

Existing PDFs belong in the Fi-Edit workflow. Fi-Convert converts supported documents and images to PDF only. Open that PDF in Fi-Edit for supported page or Fill & Sign work.

What should I do after Conversion failed?

Check that the source opens in its required application, the destination is writable and the filename is valid. An Office export can fail even when Office is installed. Wait for the current conversion to finish before closing the tool, and record the Fi-Convert Error message if it fails again.

Fi-Edit: PDF Pages and Fill & Sign

Which PDF editing features are available?

PDF Pages supports merge, insert, reorder, rotate, delete, extract and Clear. Fill & Sign supports supported form fields, visual text, date selection, check, initials and signatures, plus Erase Area. It is not a general paragraph editor.

How do I fill a PDF form?

Open an unencrypted PDF and select a supported field in Fill & Sign. Text, single-choice lists and supported check/radio fields can be edited. Read-only fields cannot be changed. Multiple-selection lists, certificate fields and JavaScript calculations are not supported.

Will saved forms remain interactive?

Ordinary saves retain supported interactive fields; added text and signatures are visual placements. Erase Area uses a different raster-output workflow that flattens pages, sacrificing original searchable text, vectors and interactive fields. Keep the original and review the new output.

Can I choose a different date?

Add Date opens a date picker, so you can choose a date other than today before placing it on the page. Text, initials, dates and checks are visual overlays. Review their positions and use Delete Selected to remove unwanted placements.

How do I add a signature?

Choose Draw Signature, Import Signature or Saved Signatures, then place the visual signature on the page. Save as New PDF writes the edited output. Protect signature images as personal information and review the finished document before sharing.

Are these cryptographic digital signatures?

No. Fill & Sign places a visual signature. It does not create a certificate-backed cryptographic signature, identity verification or a tamper-evident certificate seal. Use a dedicated certificate-signing workflow if your recipient requires that kind of signature.

What does Erase Area do, and is it verified secure redaction?

In Fill & Sign, choose Erase Area and select a rectangle, then save a new local PDF. The current experimental workflow renders page content to images, blanks selected areas and builds a new flattened PDF rather than retaining source PDF objects. Original text search, vector detail and interactive forms can be lost. Direct cloud output of this erase workflow is disabled.

This is not a certified redaction guarantee. Review every page and the output independently before sharing sensitive information. Ordinary visual text/signature overlays do not remove underlying content. Preserve an independent original.

Can Fi-Edit open a password-protected PDF?

Encrypted PDFs are not supported. Open an unencrypted copy. There is no password-unlock dialog in the current tool. Obtain an authorized unencrypted copy from the document owner before editing.

What happens to an existing digital signature?

Editing and saving may invalidate existing digital signatures. The app warns before saving an edited copy. Keep the original signed PDF and check your recipient’s requirements; a new visual signature does not repair or replace its cryptographic signature.

How do I preserve my original PDF?

Choose Save as New PDF and a distinct Filename and Output Folder. Use Left Folder to take the intended destination from the left pane. Review the output before replacing or discarding anything; keep an independent original for important documents.

Fi-Mage

Which image formats can I use?

Supported input selection covers PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, BMP, TIF and TIFF. Output choices are Keep original, JPEG, PNG, WEBP and TIFF. Keep original retains the source format; it does not mean the image is left unprocessed.

How do I resize an image?

Choose Pixels or Percentage and enter the size. Keep Aspect Ratio avoids stretching in pixel mode and fits the image within the requested bounds. Percentage scales both dimensions. Compare Original and Adjusted Size, then choose Process Images.

Can I crop or rotate an image?

The current Fi-Mage controls provide resizing and format output, not manual crop or rotation. EXIF orientation is applied automatically when processing supported images. Use another image editor for an intentional crop or manual rotation.

How does Quality affect compression?

Quality applies to JPEG and WEBP output. Lower quality can reduce size while losing detail; higher quality does not guarantee a particular size. PNG uses lossless compression settings rather than this quality slider. Review the processed image and its resulting file size.

Will transparency be preserved?

Choose a format that supports transparency, such as PNG, when you need it. JPEG cannot store transparency; the tool flattens transparent areas onto white for JPEG output. Conversion between formats can change appearance, so inspect the result.

Are metadata and multi-page images preserved?

Do not rely on complete metadata, animation or multi-page preservation. The current workflow processes an image into a new output and does not offer dedicated metadata or multi-page controls. Keep the source if EXIF information or additional TIFF pages matter.

Does processing overwrite the original?

The image worker creates a new available output filename rather than overwriting the source. Set Output Folder and Filename, then review the saved results. Batch outputs receive separate names. Preserve a backup of originals before any later manual replacement.

Fi-Zip

Which archive formats does Fi-Zip support?

The current tool creates and extracts ZIP archives. It does not offer RAR, 7z or TAR creation/extraction. Changing a file extension to .zip does not convert another archive format.

How do I create a ZIP?

Use Add Selected from Left Pane to add files or folders, review the list with Remove or Clear, choose the output destination and ZIP filename, then select Create ZIP. Wait for completion before sharing the archive.

How do I extract a ZIP?

Choose Use Selected ZIP from Left Pane, select the extraction destination and choose Extract ZIP. Use an available writable location with enough space. A cloud ZIP can require a temporary local download before extraction.

Can I set or enter an archive password?

The current Fi-Zip interface has no password control and does not create password-encrypted ZIPs. An encrypted ZIP can fail during extraction. Use an archive tool that supports its encryption format and password if necessary; Fi-Zip does not recover forgotten passwords.

Will an archive or extraction replace existing output?

An existing output archive or extraction destination is refused rather than silently replaced. Choose another name or a new extraction location. An item already exists at: … means the destination is already occupied.

What do damaged archive and unsafe pathname errors mean?

A damaged or incomplete ZIP may not be readable; obtain another copy and compare its size or checksum if supplied. Unsafe pathname in ZIP means an entry attempts to escape the extraction location and is rejected. Do not bypass that check; inspect any partial output before retrying.

Can I close the app while ZIP work continues?

Continue in Background lets ZIP work continue outside the tool view. The app asks you to wait for a background ZIP operation before exiting or restarting. Check completion rather than assuming that closing the tool cancels or finishes the archive.

Fi-Calc

Which expressions can Calculator evaluate?

Use decimal numbers, brackets, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and postfix %. For example, (2+3)*4 gives 20. Functions, variable names and code expressions are not supported. “Only arithmetic and brackets are allowed” means the expression contains an unsupported operation.

How do percentages work?

A postfix percent divides its operand by 100. For example, 200*8% gives 16, while 200/8% gives 2500 because 8% is 0.08. Use 200*(1+8%) to add eight percent to 200.

How do I apply tax and discount?

Use After Discount, After Tax or Discount Then Tax Total. The combined option applies discount first, then tax to the reduced amount. For a 100 price, 10% discount and 8% tax, the combined total is 97.2.

Why is my expression rejected?

Check brackets, operators and decimal numbers. “Invalid expression. Use numbers, +, −, ×, ÷ and brackets.” indicates malformed input. “Division by zero is undefined.” means the divisor is zero. Long or excessively nested expressions can also be rejected; no result is invented.

How precise are the results?

General decimal results are displayed with up to eight decimal places, with unnecessary trailing zeros removed. Currency amounts use two decimal places with half-up rounding. Displayed precision is not a promise that every calculation is suitable for accounting or scientific measurement.

How does Include end date change a date count?

Days Between normally excludes the end date. Include end date counts that day too: the same date gives zero days normally and one day when included. Reversed date ranges return signed negative counts rather than silently swapping the dates.

Are leap years and month boundaries handled?

Yes. Date calculations use calendar dates across leap days and month/year boundaries. Use Add / Subtract Days with signed days to shift a date; a negative value moves backward. Check Day displays its weekday.

Does Count Weekdays exclude public holidays?

No. Count Weekdays excludes the weekday boxes selected under Weekend days (excluded from weekday count). Saturday and Sunday are the defaults, but you can change them. Public holidays are not automatically excluded; apply your own holiday calendar separately.

How do I calculate an overnight or multi-day duration?

Enter the start and end dates/times and choose Calculate Duration. For an earlier end time on the same date, select Treat earlier same-date end as next day (overnight) if that is your intention. For multiple days, enter the actual dates and check the displayed End value.

Is local clock duration the same as actual elapsed time?

Not always. Local clock duration subtracts the displayed date/time values without time-zone or daylight-saving adjustment. A daylight-saving change can make actual elapsed time different. This calculator is not the clock used to enforce the app’s paid offline allowance.

How do I add time or convert units?

Use Add / Subtract Time with signed hours, minutes and seconds and inspect the resulting date rollover. Convert Time Units converts numeric durations between its units. Time in another country / zone shows a selected zone’s current clock time; it is separate from local duration subtraction.

Why do GB and GiB give different file sizes?

Decimal units use powers of 1,000: KB, MB and GB. Binary units use powers of 1,024: KiB, MiB and GiB. Use Convert File Size with the intended units; one GB is approximately 0.93132257 GiB.

What is the difference between Mbps and MB/s?

Mbps is megabits per second; MB/s is megabytes per second. Eight bits make one byte. At 100 Mbps, an ideal one-GB transfer takes 80 seconds; at 100 MB/s it takes 10 seconds. Choose the unit that matches your connection or device specification.

How reliable is Estimate Transfer Time?

It estimates size divided by speed, excluding network and disk overhead. Actual transfers can take longer because of contention, latency or provider limits. Speeds must be valid positive values; zero or invalid speeds are rejected instead of producing a useful estimate.

Where do currency rates come from?

Fi-Calc retrieves ECB daily reference rates quoted against EUR and calculates cross-currency amounts from them. They are indicative reference rates, not a bank or card exchange quote. Margins and fees can make actual exchange amounts different.

How often are currency rates updated?

The ECB normally publishes rates around 16:00 CET on working days, excluding TARGET closing days. The app retrieves them when you choose Search Latest & Convert or Retrieve Latest Daily Rates; it does not promise continuous automatic refresh. Check the shown rate date and retrieval timestamp.

Can I convert currency while offline?

If you previously saved rates, choose Convert Using Saved Rates (Offline). The result is labelled saved/offline and retains its rate date and retrieval timestamp. It is an older saved reference, not a claim that today’s live rate was fetched.

What if the latest rates are unavailable?

Latest retrieval can report an error or timeout while other controls remain available. Retry, or explicitly choose saved rates. “No saved ECB rates. Retrieve rates first.” means there is no usable cache; the app does not invent an exchange rate. Currency retrieval is separate from license verification.

Which currencies are available?

The retrieved or saved ECB rate set determines the choices. A currency absent from that set cannot be converted with it. “Currency is unavailable in the saved rate set.” means you need a published rate for that currency rather than an assumed substitute.

How do I copy or export results?

Copy Result copies the latest successful result. Select a Calculation history entry and choose Copy Selected, Export Text… or Export CSV… to save history. CSV contains Timestamp, Calculation and Result columns. Save important output to a location you can find again.

Does calculation history survive a restart?

The latest 100 history entries are saved in local app preferences and restored on normal restart. Clear History removes that stored history. Export important results before clearing it or removing app data; history is not a backup of your files.

Can I use my own exchange rate?

Yes. The Currency tab offers a manual rate: enter the amount and the rate for one source-currency unit in the destination currency, then use the manual conversion. This does not fetch or validate a live bank rate.

Privacy, backups & support

What is stored locally?

The app stores preferences such as saved folder paths, pane settings, Fi-Calc history, weekend choices and saved currency rates. Remembered authentication and saved visual signatures use Windows-user protection. Temporary cloud downloads and tool output also use local storage; do not assume all local data is encrypted.

What information goes online?

Account sign-in and licensing contact their online services using account/session and device-access information. Currency retrieval contacts the ECB. Cloud operations send requests and file content to the configured provider when you upload or download. A cloud output choice sends that output online.

Are file tools completely private or offline?

Processing generally uses local components, including installed Office for Office export, but cloud inputs/outputs require online file transfers and access still has licensing requirements. Do not assume a file remains local when you select a cloud destination. Review the website privacy notice for service handling.

How should I protect my credentials?

Use a strong unique password and keep application keys and session information private. Never include passwords, API keys, tokens, card details or session files in support messages. Revoke a cloud key through its provider if it is exposed. Windows protection does not make a shared unlocked account private.

Do I still need a backup?

Yes. Save copies of important originals and verify outputs before replacing files. Application trash, saved shortcuts, temporary downloads and calculator history are not substitutes for a separate backup. Check the backup can actually be restored before relying on it.

What should I send when reporting an error?

Email admin.zaiclox5@gmail.com with the app version, Windows version, exact error text, time/time zone, operation and steps to reproduce. Include a redacted screenshot and a non-sensitive sample file if useful. For cloud failures, name the provider and operation without sending keys or private file contents.

Should I send logs or my whole app-data folder?

Send only the relevant redacted excerpt requested by support, not your entire app-data folder. Remove tokens, keys, email addresses and private paths as appropriate. Do not attach remembered-session files or saved signature images. Keep an original copy of diagnostic evidence for your own records.

When should I expect a support response?

The first-response target is five working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Singapore public holidays. Counting starts on the next working day after receipt. This is a response target, not a guaranteed time to resolve the issue. For example, a Wednesday report with Friday a Singapore public holiday reaches its fifth working day on the following Thursday, assuming no other excluded holidays.

Can I delete my account from the website?

To request account closure, email admin.zaiclox5@gmail.com. Removing the app or a cloud connection does not close your account. Contact support about an account or privacy request; do not assume a disabled control has processed it. Cloud connection removal keeps remote files.

Where are the video, guide and colour-theme controls?

The ZaiMiXplorer product page contains the introduction video. The Technical Guide opens separately and supports search, Expand shown and Collapse shown. Use the header’s Dark mode / Light mode button to change the website theme; the choice is remembered in that browser. Website theme settings are separate from desktop app settings. Video playback requires an internet connection.
